October is National Roller Skating Month, and skating rinks across the country are celebrating an activity that has been bringing people together for generations.
Roller skating is so much more than going around the rink—it creates a place where families laugh together, schools build friendships, churches enjoy fellowship, and youth groups make memories side by side. This year’s theme, “Rolling Through the Generations,” perfectly captures what we see every week at Sky-Vue Skateland: grandparents who once skated here watching their grandchildren take their first rolls, parents joining their children on the floor, and a new generation discovering the same fun that has filled our rink for 68 years. We’re turning up the music and rolling through the generations as we celebrate National Roller Skating Month! Each night will spotlight a different era of music, giving everyone a chance to skate, sing along, and enjoy the songs that helped define their generation. You’re welcome to dress the decade! Pull out the bell bottoms, neon, denim, scrunchies, tracksuits, or whatever reminds you of your favorite era. One rink. Every generation. Great music. Endless memories.

Saturday Afternoon Fun Skate Returns November 7!
Families, mark your calendars! Our Saturday Afternoon Fun Skate returns Saturday, November 7, from 1:00–3:00 pm. It’s the same great skating, music, and games you love—just at a new time!
This session is especially popular with young families, beginning skaters, and small groups. The afternoon atmosphere gives children a great opportunity to build confidence on skates while families enjoy being active and having fun together.

Learn to Skate This Winter!
If your child is ready to learn how to skate, our Learn to Skate Classes are a fun and encouraging place to begin. We offer a 4-week class during the months of November, January, February, and March.
Students enter at 12:20 pm on Saturday afternoons, and instruction runs from 12:30–12:55 pm. Skate rental is included, and we’ll also provide a Skate Mate when needed to help new skaters gain confidence.
During the four weeks, students will work on the basics of roller skating—balancing on skates, moving their feet correctly, stopping, skating the curves, and even learning how to “cannonball” for limbo! We make learning fun while helping each skater become more comfortable and confident on the floor.
And the learning doesn’t stop when class ends! Students are welcome to stay and enjoy our Saturday Afternoon Fun Skate from 1:00–3:00 pm, giving them extra time to practice their new skills.
Class size is limited, and preregistration is required through our website. If learning to roller skate is on your child’s list this year, now is the perfect time to get them rolling!
