President Ronald Reagan designated October to be National Roller Skating Month in 1983. Sky-Vue Skateland is joining the Roller Skating Association and hundreds of roller skating rinks across the county to celebrate.
This year’s theme is “Roller Skating is Life.”
The “Roller Skating is Life” slogan reveals the longevity of the sport for individuals as well as the value received from participating. Roller skating is a great physical activity people can participate in most of their life. Skating regularly contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
October 1 kicks off the month-long celebration with Learn to Skate Day. Mrs. Denise always teaches an introductory “how to skate” lesson at 2 pm during the Saturday afternoon sessions. It’s a great session to learn to skate for beginners and young families. Mrs. Kelly also coaches beginners and encourages them to participate in the games to strengthen their skating skills.
Our Learn to Skate 4 Week Challenge returns on Saturday, October 1. You can learn the fundamental skills of roller skating in 4 weeks. The class size is limited to ten students. You may learn more about our program and reserve your spot on our Learn to Skate page on our website. Our classes start the first Saturday of the month, each month, through April 2023.
Mrs. Denise made a mistake with booking times on Saturday morning, October 1. Therefore, we will not have our Skate and Play for the month of October. Please make note our Skate & Play for 6 and Younger will be on November 5 at 10 am.

October 7 & 8. Two for One Weekend. Your paid admission on Friday night covers your admission to skate on Saturday night. You receive two nights of skating for the price of one!
October 14 & 15. Family Fun Weekend. Families (up to 5 members) may skate for the discounted price of Fifty Dollars. The price includes skate rental too. We qualify a family as members living in the same household and at least one parent skating with the family.
October 21 & 22. Bring a friend, girls, and receive a BOGO discount. It’s girls’ weekend to receive Buy One Get One free admission. Two girls can skate for the price of one admission. Now that’s a great offer to have a girlfriend’s weekend. This offer is good during our afternoon or evening session.
October 28 & 29. It’s the guys’ turn for a BOGO discount. All gentlemen with a friend receive a Buy One Get One free admission during any skating session this weekend. This offer is good during our afternoon or evening session.
Remember we offer private sessions for all kinds of celebrations. Having the rink for you and your friends is extra special.
